Sections CMS release : 6 June 2025

Novelties
Override Meta Data
- You can already set a meta title, description, and image for your page. We’ve now added a new SEO option for configurable sections. When your page includes a configurable section—such as a full article blog section—you can enable this new option.
- If enabled, the page’s meta data (title, description, and image) will be overridden by the article’s title, summary, and image instead.
- If your page contains multiple configurable sections with the SEO option enabled, the meta data will be taken from the section with the lowest weight.

Smooth Onboarding
- When registering a project from the Sections back office using the Smooth Onboarding method (via email and password or Google Sign-In), you will be immediately redirected to your site. A homepage will be automatically created and opened in edit mode, along with a guided walkthrough to help you get started quickly.
Changes
New Display Updates
- The Edit Page button is now displayed as a pencil icon, fixed at the top of the page with 60% opacity.
- The View Page button is now an eye icon, positioned in the same place as the Edit icon, and also has 60% opacity.
- The gear icon for each section (when editing the page) also appears with 60% opacity.
- When you click on the edit or view options, all related options are now aligned with the icons at the top.
- The variation bar is no longer visible when editing a page.
- When editing a page, if no changes are made, no changes message will be displayed. A message will only appear if changes are actually made, and it will be shown below the options.
- The background of all section options, form buttons, and the translation tab on forms now uses the blue theme color of Sections.
- Button sizes have been adjusted to remove excessive padding and oversized text.
- The option panel display when editing a page on mobile is now user-friendly.
- The settings popup is now optimized for mobile devices.
- The interface for editing a section has also been improved for better mobile usability.

Corrections
Blogs section global instances
- A bug that was preventing users from adding multiple Global Instance Blog Section components to the same page has been fixed.
- You can now add as many global instances of the Blog Section as you want on a single page.
API Call Limit Error
- When your project reaches its API call limit, an error message is now displayed to inform you of the issue.
French Language Site Project Improvements
- When your site is configured to use only French, you can now add and edit the Wysiwyg public section on your pages without any issues. Previously, this action returned an error due to missing required fields in English.
- When your project supports both English and French, and French is set as the default language, you can now add and edit the wysiwyg public section directly in French within the forms. Previously, this would trigger an error message indicating that required fields in English were missing.
Guides
- The Guide feature is now fully functional:
- When you create your site and access it for the first time, the guide automatically starts.
- When you edit a page and click the “?” icon, the guide is launched and works properly.
- If you start the guide, follow a few steps, then close the site or log out, the guide will automatically resume from where you left off the next time you access your site and reach the same step.
- If you choose to skip and close the guide during a step, it will no longer relaunch automatically—unless you manually restart it by clicking the “?” icon.
Section Created from Scratch for Your Project
- When you create a section from scratch using the library to add it to your project, the Section Type field is now included. This allows you to link your media files directly to your content.
Export/Import Page
- When you export a page that includes a global instance and import it into another page, the global instance is now retained.
- When you export a page that uses a layout and import it into another page, the layout is now retained.
